Industrial Development

<empty>Existing Industry

We know the biggest economic growth and the largest source of new jobs is expansion of existing business. That’s why we started our Existing Industry Program.

Its goal is to help business succeed. We work with partners such as the City of Bristol, TN, TVA, the State of Tennessee, local colleges and universities, Oak Ridge National Laboratories and UT Technical Assistance Centers to help business solve problems.

Some of the assistance we have provided includes

· Loan assistance for equipment purchases and expansions
· Identify existing unused tax credits
· Process flow improvements
· Training grants and assistance
· Recycling opportunities
· Human resource assistance
· Electrical load study
· Infrared studies
· HVAC studies
· Lighting studies

If we can help your industry grow, we will.

New Business

The sign spanning downtown’s State Street almost says it all, “Bristol: A Good Place To Live.” If we were rewriting that landmark, it would say, “Bristol: A Great Place To Live And Locate A Business.”

Bristol is at the center of all major Southeastern markets. We are within a one-day drive of 53 percent of the U.S. population and 65 percent of U.S. major markets lie within a 600-miles radius of the city.

With easy access to interstates, rail transportation, commercial and cargo air service, getting products into and out of Bristol is a breeze. At nearby Tri-Cities Regional Airport, a U.S. Customs port of entry and U.S. Foreign Trade Zone No. 204 are located. The Tri-Cities World Trade Center has been granted an option and is very close to obtaining its license.

BTES works closely with local economic development entities and with prospective businesses to help them fill their needs. We provide assistance with shell buildings, site preparation, utilities and TVA Economic Development Loans.

We want you to experience what we already know – Bristol truly is a great place to live, work and play.
