Electric Rate Information

The base customer charge for residential customers is $6.42 per month plus the charge for electricity.

The energy charge is 7.358
cents (6.323 cents plus plus .30 cents environmental charge plus  0.735 cents fuel cost adjustment) per kilowatt-hour for the first 1,000 kilowatt hours per month. Additional kilowatt-hours per month are 7.913 cents (6.878 cents plus .30 cents environmental charge plus 0.735 cents fuel cost adjustment ) per kilowatt-hour.

The minimum monthly bill is $10.77.

General Service [A] Rate Schedule (GSA)

This rate shall apply to the firm power requirements (where a customer’s contract demand is 5,000 kW or less) for electric service to commercial, industrial, and governmental customers; and to institutional customers including, without limitation, churches, clubs, fraternities, orphanages, nursing homes, rooming or boarding houses, and like customers. This rate shall also apply to customers to whom service is not available under any other resale rate schedule.

BASE CHARGES

1. If (a) the higher of  (i) the customer’s current effective contract demand, if any, or (ii) its highest billing demand during the latest 12-month period is not more than 50 kW and  (b) customer’s monthly energy takings for any month during such period do not exceed 15,000 kWh:

Customer Charge:   $14.29 per delivery point per month

Energy Charge: 7.307 cents plus 0.723 cents environmental charge plus 0.580 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 8.379 cents per kWh



2.If (a) the higher of (i) the customer’s current effective contract demand, if any, or (ii) its highest billing demand during the latest 12-month period is greater than 50 kW but not more than 1,000 kW or (b) if the customer’s billing demand is less than 50 kW and its energy takings for any month during such period exceed 15,000 kWh:

Customer Charge:  $25.51 per delivery point per month

Demand Charge:  First 50 kW of billing demand per month, no demand charge.
        
Excess over 50 kW of billing demand per month, at $10.04 plus $.45 environmental charge to equal $10.49  per kW, plus an additional $10.04 plus $.45 environmental charge to equal $10.49 per kW per month for each kW by which billing demand exceeds the higher of 50kW or contract demand.

Energy Charge: First 15,000 kWh per month at 7.260 cents plus .349 cents environmental charge plus 0.723 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 8.332 cents per kWh.  Additional kWh per month at 4.018 cents plus .197 cents environmental charge plus 0.711 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 4.926 cents per kWh.



3. If (a) the higher of the customer’s current effective contract demand, if any, or (b) its highest billing demand during the latest 12-month period is greater than 1,000 kW:

Customer Charge:  $25.51 per delivery point per month
        
Demand Charge: First 1,000 kW of billing demand per month, at $10.09 plus $.49 environmental charge to equal $10.58 per kW. Additional kW of billing demand per month, at $11.88 plus $.57 environmental charge to equal $12.45 per kW plus an additional $11.88 plus $.57 environmental charge to equal $12.45 per kW per month for each kW by which billing demand exceeds its contract demand.

Energy Charge: All kWh per month at 4.018 cents plus .197 cents environmental charge plus 0.711 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 4.926 cents per kWh.

General Service [B] Rate Schedule (GSB)

This rate shall apply to the firm power requirements where a customer’s current effective contract demand is greater than 5,000 kW but not more than 15,000 kW.

BASE CHARGES

If the customer’s contract demand is greater than 5,000 kW but not more than 15,000 kW:

Customer Charge:$1,500 per delivery point per month.

Demand Charge: $12.55 plus $.61 environmental charge to equal $13.16 per kW of billing demand per month, plus an additional $12.55 plus $.61 environmental charge to equal $13.16 per kW per month for each kW, if any, of the amount by which the customer’s billing demand exceeds its contract demand.

Energy Charge: 3.492 cents plus .175 cents environmental charge plus 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 4.374 cents per kWh for up to 620 hours use of metered demand per month

2.849 cents plus .143 cents environmental charge plus 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 3.699 cents per kWh for all additional kWh per month

BASE CHARGES

If the customer’s contract demand is greater than 15,000 kW but not more than 25,000 kW:
           
Customer Charge:$1,500 per delivery point per month.

Demand Charge:$12.66 plus $.61 environmental charge to equal $13.27 per kW of billing demand per month, plus an additional $12.66 plus $.61 environmental charge to equal $13.27 per kW per month for each kW, if any, of the amount by which the customer’s billing demand exceeds its contract demand.

Energy Charge: 3.492 cents plus .175 cents 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 4.374 cents per kWh for up to 620 hours use of metered demand per month

2.849 cents plus .143 cents environmental charge plus 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 3.699 cents per kWh for all additional kWh per month

Manufacturer Service [B] Rate Schedule (MSB)

This rate shall apply to the firm power requirements where (a) a customer’s current effective contract demand is greater than 5,000 kW but not more than 15,000 kW and (b) the major use of electricity is for activities conducted at the delivery point serving that customer which are classified with a 2-digit Standard Industrial Classification Code between 20 and 39, inclusive.

Prior to initially taking any service under this schedule, and from time to time thereafter as may be required by Bristol Tennessee Essential Services (BTES) or the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), a customer shall certify to both BTES and TVA that it meets the requirements set forth in condition (b) above.  The certification form to be used shall be (i) furnished or approved by TVA, (ii) provided by BTES to the customer, and (iii) signed and promptly returned by the customer to BTES.  Further, such customer shall promptly certify any change in status of any of the information contained in the certification form to BTES.

Service during any period for which a customer does not meet the eligibility requirements set forth in condition (b) above will be made available by BTES under, and billed in accordance with, the applicable General Power schedule.


BASE CHARGES

If the customer's contract demand is no more than 5,000 kW:
           
Customer Charge:$1,500 per delivery point per month.
Demand Charge:$10.75 plus $.520 environmental charge to equal $11.27 per kW of billing demand per month, plus an additional $10.75 plus $.520 environmental charge to equal $11.27 per kW per month for each kW, if any, of the amount by which the customer’s billing demand exceeds its contract demand.

Energy Charge: 2.973 cents plus .149 cents environmental charge plus 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 3.829 cents per kWh for up to 620 hours use of metered demand per month                                    

2.425 cents plus .121 cents environmental charge plus 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 3.253 cents per kWh for all additional kWh per month

If the customer's contract demand is greater than 5,000 kW:

Customer Charge: $1,500 per delivery point per month

Demand Charge: $10.17 plus $.49 environmental charge to equal $10.66 per kW of billing demand per month, plus an additional $10.17 plus $.49 environmental charge to equal $10.66 per kW per month for each kW, if any, of the amount by which the customer’s billing demand exceeds its contract demand.

Energy Charge: 2.822 cents plus .142 cents environmental charge plus 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 3.829 per kWh for up to 620 hours use of metered demand per month

2.306 cents plus .115 cents environmental charge plus 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 3.128 cents per kWh for all additional kWh per month

Manufacturer Service [C] Rate Schedule (MSC)

Energy Charge: 2.822 cents plus .142 cents environmental charge plus 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 3.671 cents per kWh for up to 620 hours use of metered demand per month                                    

2.306 cents plus .115 cents environmental charge plus 0.707 cents fuel cost adjustment to equal 3.128 cents per kWh for all additional kWh per month

LS Rate Schedule   Lighting Service Rate Schedule

The below charges are limited to service from a photo electrically controlled Standard Street Lighting Fixture installed on a pole already in place.  The monthly investment charge plus energy apply to the following lights:

If the customer wishes to have the fixture installed at a location other than on a pole already in place, BTES will apply the monthly investment charge plus the monthly wood pole charge of $5.00 per wood pole per month.

Any other special installation may also require a monthly investment charge in addition to the charges stated above.  Customers desiring service rendered in this Part B may be required to execute contracts for this service guaranteeing payment at the monthly charges for facilities required.  Contract periods will be based on the characteristics of each particular installation.
