This position requires the employee to reside no more than 30 minutes from the BTES Service Center (2470 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, TN), according to Google Maps.
The entry-level Digital Marketing Specialist will create and manage content across digital platforms to promote BTES’ services, educate customers, and maintain a consistent brand image. This role involves developing social media content, writing and designing newsletters, creating and designing advertisements, and supporting employees with branded presentations. The ideal candidate is a creative individual with strong communication skills and a passion for serving the Bristol, Tennessee community.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
0-2 years of experience in digital marketing, content creation, or graphic design; internships, volunteer work, or personal projects are a plus.
Job Knowledge
- Familiarity with Bristol, Tennessee’s local culture and community values.
- Basic knowledge of SEO and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta).
- Experience with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere) for social media content.
- Understanding of utility industry or municipal branding principles.
Abilities & Skills
- Proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact).
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms and their content requirements.
- Strong writing and editing skills for clear, customer-friendly communication.
- Ability to create visually appealing designs that align with brand guidelines.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft tools including presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint).
- Time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions
Usual conditions in an air-conditioned office. Schedule of work hours may be varied. Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
