BTES offers several convenient ways to pay your bill.
Bank Draft - FREE!
You may set up an automatic bank draft so that you never have to worry about writing a check or missing a payment because you’re on vacation. Bank draft is processed the business day prior to the due date and the customer's bank account is drafted the current amount due on the due date (if the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the money is deducted from the bank account the following business day). Click here for the bank draft form. Please allow BTES at least ten business days to process your bank draft application. If your current bill is due within the next two weeks, please make arrangements to pay that bill using another method.

Drop Boxes - FREE!
We have three drop boxes that you may use to make your payment. Two are at our office on Volunteer Parkway – one is in the parking lot between Avoca Elementary School and the BTES office, and the other is located in the drive-thru lane, which is on the side of the building closest to the drive-in theater. The third drop box is in downtown Bristol next to the courthouse. The courthouse is at 801 Anderson St. Our drop box faces 8th Street.
In-Person - FREE!
You may pay your bill via cash, check, or money order at our offices at 2470 Volunteer Parkway from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Pay by Phone with Credit/Debit Card or E-Check
To make a payment by phone, call 423-968-1526 and select option 4 to access the automated payment system. A $2 convenience fee applies to all phone payments. The maximum card payment per transaction is $500. If a payment of more than $500 is needed, the total amount must be split into multiple transactions.
Online via Credit/Debit Card or E-Check
Click here to log into BTES Engage and make a one-time payment via credit or debit card. You may also elect to use your checking/savings account information for a one-time payment via an e-check. A $2 convenience fee will apply.
Vanilla Direct
Coming soon! Utilize Vanilla Direct to pay your BTES bill with cash at participating retailers. Vanilla Direct lets you pay your bill with cash at locations with extended hours such as Dollar General and the payment applies to your account immediately! A convenience fee will apply. The barcode is located on the back of your BTES bill.
By Mail
You may mail your payment to us in the envelope provided with your bill to PO Box 549 Bristol, TN 37621.
Other Locations
Payments may also be made at Bank of Tennessee and First Horizon.
PrePay
PrePay puts you in control of when you pay for your BTES services. This program allows you to pay as you go with your PrePay account. As you use your services, your balance is reduced. This flexibility allows you to better manage your budget and energy usage. Best of all, there is no deposit requirement, no credit check, and no reconnect fees when you participate in PrePay.
